Calling for some HELP from CA
hi fellow s2kers in mid A out there,
im looking for a place to live in the DC area or VA anywhere near to metro station possibly in a walking distance.
Im starting my full time MBA program beginning this fall(to be exact the 20th of the month) at Georgetown but i havent found the place yet. I m planning to move in 15th- 18th as I have to get familiar with metro and all before the 2 week orientation starts.
i need your help guys.
if anyone here in Mid-A has a room in the desired area for rent or available for some extra income, please let me know. i must have one by the 18th at the latest.
a little about myself,
28 yr old straight asian male MBA student from this fall
non-smoker(however, i dont mind if u do), clean, respectful, considerate,
responsible, and mature.
I am a serious student who considers my educatuon first priority. i would spend
most of time studying or at school. i know what to do as a housemate and always
keep everything straight.
I am looking to pay about 500 or a bit over for the rent plus utilities or
it would be great if ut is included. any discount for a fellow s2kier? =)
Again please PM me know if u or friends rent out a room.
Thank you so much for viewing and im looking forward to hearing from u soon.

Cross-country move with no place scoped? One word: procrastination.

OTOH, if this is for real, good luck on your schooling.
I live in Rosslyn, which is right across Key Bridge from Georgetown. There is no Metro stop in Georgetown. You would have to walk from Rosslyn or Foggy Bottom Metro. There are buses, also - for instance The Georgetown Connector from Rosslyn up M St in Georgetown. I would check with GU for recommendations on housing. They might have a referral list. You would need at least one roommate to keep your outlay to what you want. Rents are expensive here, especially close in - probably no less than $1000 a month for a one-bedroom, most likely more. Quite a few students from GU and George Washington Univ. rent in Rosslyn, so you may want to pursue renting with students from either place. Good luck.

Every time I have consulted her about getting apartments in the DC area, she always sends me (and anyone else who asks) to the Georgetown student affairs office.

This is the best recommendation you are going to get... IIRC, Georgetown has quite the network of DC housing. I never used it myself, but my sister made some very close, life long friends this way while she was a grad student there.
