Car Show At L'Enfant Plaza on Friday
For those working in downtown DC and looking for some lunchtime entertainment, there will be a car show on the L'Enfant promende (10th Street) on Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM. The show is being sponsored by the Lost Caravan Corvette Club. Expect to see sports cars, muscle cars, classics, etc. My car will be representing the S2K marque. Hopefully the weather will be cooler tomorrow.

For those who asked, the show was well-received by the public. I would guess that there were about a thousand "lookers." There were over 30 vehicles on display. The music was good; and fortunately, it did not rain; but was still quite hot.
As for cars, there were obviously many late-model Corvettes (some up to 500 HP) represented, a couple of '68-era Corvettes, a Porsche Boxster, a Miata SE, a Jag XKE coupe, several MB SLs, a '60s vintage Saab (Sonnett) sports car, a Datsun 240-Z with a big block Chevy engine, a Dodge Stealth Twin-Turbo, a 1928 Ford Coupe (Hot Rod), 2 Chevelles with big block engines, a Camero with a big block, several Mustangs with HP engines, and a nice Acura with mods.
The S2K attracted lots of attention with comments such as "I've never seen a car like this before," "What kind of a car is this,?" "Who makes it?" Suprisingly, many lookers would focus on a particular part on the car such as the tail lights, wheels, roll hoops, etc., like the piece was somehow highly unusual to them. I showed the car with the PITA top boot cover- it does clean up the looks a lot. Hopefully, 5 hours of heat stretched the cover and will make it easier to install in the future.
They are planning to have Show #4 about this time next year.
