Car Wash Fund Raiser
Mike, I'm glad to hear that your mom won the battle.
My mom passed away in Dec 2003 after we discovered a late-stage stomach cancer in Oct 2002... I can't make it in person, but will make a small donation.
The US healthcare system is not perfect, but I want to give Montgomery county a big
on how she was given adequate late-stage care despite us not being able to pay for it.
On the other hand, with relatively routine checkups we probably would have caught it... if we had lived in Canada she might be alive today.
I would encourage those whose moms/dads without insurance that might be ignoring pain to save a few dollars to take her...

i was going to attend this and donate some money...beacuse it is a great cause... and my mother has also had a scare with breast cancer.... however.. .after mike's blatant outburst using my name for no apparent reason in another thread.
.. i have decided that i will not attend and donate money......
wow poptarts....sorry to hear that. I know hearing sorry or reading it on the net doesnt help anything, but I'm glad you spoke up.
blue03s2k, sorry to hear there was a scare regardless of how you feel about what I say in any post. Hopefully it was only a scare and she is okay.

Thanks, Mike. More than anything I'm glad your mom made it through ok.
I was very blessed to have mine much longer than this other poor girl I know, who came to America at 14 years old and lost her mother a year later to colon cancer.
Her mother was 44.
Dylan, you should read:

I figured it might have been a misunderstanding.
It didn't make sense to me because I think highly of both Mike and Dylan. I think it's great that a lot of us have each other's back, but I think it's usually wise to hold back a little and clear things up before getting upset.
I hope now you'll consider going if you can, Dylan. Hit on the chicks there instead of at the Nationals game.

Dylan will be welcome any time if he donates anything or not or if he washes his car or not.
Thank you poptarts. I hadn't realized the thread was unlocked again or I would've tried to explain myself. There is a lot more to life then this website or our cars, but I don't like to offend people unless I'm trying to.
and now back to the topic...the weather forecast has changed to sunny and 72 degrees for the car wash!

Trust me ...thats something that will be mentioned to the people organizing it. I know how particular most of us are about our cars. All I can say is they know some s2000 people will be showing up and they know to treat you well. If you don't feel comfy though thats perfectly fine. I'll be hanging out there helping out as needed so if you want a hand with your S I won't mind. Just having a few nice cars there should help draw in others.
Thank you everyone for all of your support! I'm very pleased with the reaction from the community.
