PM peter...you might be calling when hes not there... he also works somewhere else. The shop is just something he decided to do on the side. Just PM him and you should get a response back.

I'm not saying it was right, but thankfully it was only 3 miles. They make devices that record something like the last 24 hrs of your cars motions and such for people who don't trust dealerships when they drop off the car. If I remember right it's magnetic and is small to hide in the trunk. USB hookup to import data to computer. Might want to look into it.

http://www.davisnet.com/drive/products/dri....asp?pnum=08211 - $139

http://www.roadsafety.com/teen.php - $295

They connect into your ODBII port though so if the dealership goes near that....they will see it. I guess you could get creative and create your own harness and splice into your wires and hide it REALLY well.

Mike,

That's a pretty cool device. It seems though, if they go through that much hassle to disconnect it, then they are probably doing something that they shouldn't be. I would also think that the software will also show when it was disconnected.

Not sure what your number you're calling, but yea, there should be someone there answering the phone.

I would assume the software would remember when it was connected and disconnected, but don't mechanics use that port when you bring your car in to scan codes and see if anything is wrong with it? Maybe Peter could answer that one better. If they disconnect it every time you bring your car in....that would REALLY defeat the purpose.

Peter is great when you have real work to be done on your S, but I waited for over 2 weeks for him to help me w/ an oil change (left several voicemails, PM's, etc.) and never got anywhere. I finally gave up and did it at Ryan's house (LiquidIce), as he was gracious enough to let me borrow his jack and jackstands.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing Peter. I like him, and he's done good work on my car in the past. He just seemed far too busy to do my oil change within a 2.5 week period.

Jeremy,

You also didn't tell the people reading this thread that when we had scheduled to do your detail, you were suppose to bring me your fluids, and you didn't. So it wasn't done at the time that I did have your vehicle. Unfortunately, we then got swamped with cars the following weeks and I was unable to fit you in. yes, I am busy, and yes I do have another job. I'm glad Ryan was able to help you change your oil.

Excellent point. I honestly had forgotten that. If you'd like me to delete my earlier post, I'd be glad to.

As I said earlier, I'm not mad at you, and you have done excellent service on my car in the past.

I did. That's why I was very understanding and am in no way upset with him. I was basically viewing it as him doing a favor for me anyway if he had been able to change the oil, as $10 or $20 doesn't do much to help him keep the shop running. I just wanted to make sure that other people knew that he has another job as well, and that the shop does a lot more work than just changing oil for S2000 owners.
