Chesapeake Courts
Okay all, here is the story
I was coming down Military Highway and was at a stop light in the far left lane. i had a van next to me, hooked up accord behind me w/ 3 kids in car, and my lane was ending soon. So i sped up and got infront of the van. the accord that was behind me floored it and got next to me... then all of a sudden i felt something hit my car and he took off. he got about 200ft up on me and my friend in the passenger seat said "yo smoke that punk".. so i floored it and caught up to him about 1/4 mile down the road and we both catch a red light.. i was about to roll down my window to ask him WTF his problem is. then i look in my rear view mirror to see those oh so pretty flashing blue's behind me. my friend said that when i was playing catch up he was staring left and right and didnt see anything, but the cop said that he clocked me doing 82 in a 45. so i got wreckless driving. i'm guessing that the cop clocked him.. but the clocked me coming up fast doing higher speeds.. either way the cop pulled me, and let the accord got off free. when the cop asked what i was doing, i told him teh truth.. "being stupid"... then after he gave me the ticket he said, well i guess you know those kids in that other car. i said "no sir, the were behind me and then threw something at my car and took off, so i was catching up to find out what their problem is.. but then.... " then cop just got back in his car and drove off...
anyways,
Does anyone know how the courts are in that area? and does anyone konw of any good lawyers that they can recommend?

my last experience in a chesapeake court wasn't too bad. 60 in a 45. showed up to court and waited an hour to go up to the judge. there was actually a group of 9 people who got off since the cop didn't show up (so go to court). you can try to fight the radar. asking about when it was calibrated, how the radar was set, the officer's certification, etc. but in the end, the judge wanted to give me a ticket. oh well, at least he bumped it down to 9 miles over.
yeah... i defintly have to show up in court, cuase its reckless. and i'm DEFINTLY planning on having a lawyer wiht me. but i really dont think theres any chance of the judge reducing the ticket.. i mean i was almost doubling the speed limit. i was doing 37 over

I got a reckless driving ticket when I lost control of my old Prelude and wrecked it (guess that was a fitting ticket
). I use Pete Decker's law firm, and in particular a guy named George Neskis. ALL of my Police Officer buddies recommend George. He specializes in Norfolk Traffic Court, but like all lawyers - "have money, will travel"
George is expensive, but well worth it - he got my wreckless completely dropped

I must agree with Dan (Luft46) on Dave22 - Dave has got way more experience in this area that every member of the Mid-A combined
Sorry Dave, couldn't resist....

i realized that last night when i was reading over everythign, just didnt fel like adjusting it.
anyways. even though it just happened last night, you guys have been a GREAT help with all recommendations, idea's and tips. i really appreciate everything.
a special thanks to Hatty Matty for introducing me to this site, he wasnt lying when he said you guys are a great bunch of guys.
i'll keep everyone updated with everything as the situation progress's.
as far as now goes, i've typed up an incident report of EXACTLY what happened... from the second i left the light with the accord behind me, to the second the officer drove off. tomorrow morning a good friend of mine is introducing me to a lawyer who's office is right across the street from the Chessy Courthouse... he is said to be very good. i'm going to get some insight from a few lawyers.. prices, what all they say, how good they are... etc etc.... and then make my decision on who to go with.
thanks again
