Default Clear bra install

I had a clear bra on my STi that I recently sold. It proved it's worth 10x over and really kept the front end in good condition.

I would like to get one for my S2k as well, especially since I have a CR lip and it's currently in perfect condition. Anybody know a place in the Northern VA area?

I am interested in this as well..I barely drive my S and the front end/hood looks like the space shuttle after getting blasted with space debris.

Just curious, where did you have your STi done? Or was it done before you bought it? I heard Ziebarts in Fairfax does the clear bra installs, but not sure of the quality. They tinted the windows in my S, and they did a great job with that...

I hate to be "that guy" but all the ones i have seen are really visible within a year on these cars. I dont know where to go, but i am sure it can be done well. I think RudeS2k has one that is barely visible though. talk to him

Go to Google and type in "Clear Bra Northern Va."

You will have two choices for your type of protection:

1- Ventureshield (which was recently bought by 3M but will remain separate)- Ventureshield is less visible than the 3M brand because it's thinner. It's also easier to install which may transfer into cheaper labor cost (because it's more pliable).

2- 3M is thicker (better protection against rocks), had a better warranty (until 3M bought Ventureshield) and if installed corectly, it will be barely noticeable as well.

Do yourself a favor (I recently did) and travel to the places that you're considering using. See their work first hand and see from their work if you want to use there service. Also ask for work they've done and see if you're allowed to see a few cars that they have completed. This will allow you to see the Clear Bra on several different colors.

Good luck, it's definitely worth it and the prices have come down due to the economy!!
If you find someone to go in with you, they should offer a discount.

The STi was done at the dealership it was originally purchased at. I was the second owner.

The STi had the clear bra on for 5 years and it was still difficult to see unless you looked at just the right angle. On a white or silver car I can imagine it would be more noticeable. However, my STi was world rally blue and my S2k is NFR. Even if you can see it in some places I think it's a worthy investment to protect my CR lip and immaculate front end.

Fladdam when I find a place (probably going out to look on Friday) I'll see if they'll offer us a discount if we come in together. What are the details of your car (year/color)?

(edit) Found two reputable shops located in Herndon. I'll let you know what I find out.

This is what I found from Skip at PFT Films.

$995 Front of hood/fenders, headlights, mirrors and bumper

$495 Front of hood/fenders, headlights and mirrors

$595 Front Bumper

All come with a lifetime warranty, Uses 3m scotchgard film approx. 6mm thick.

I plan on stopping into another shop tomorrow. I'll post back the information.

your right , light colors do not come out very well, have had it on several cars,
a black Saab Aero, looked good, a blue FX35 looked good, and a slate blue Infiniti G37 you could barely see it, so i figured i would go ahead and put it on my GPW S2K, man you can see every little line on the car now, all's it takes is a little bit of dust for the lines to show up.
It's a great product, but obviously works better on darker colors as compared to lighter colors, as far as pricing goes i paid just around $700, but i also had the rear bumper done, seeing as i park the car in the city sometimes.
hope this helps.
