I hated that noise... I had it at like 20k miles. It was the axel nut I believe. Im pretty sure there was a TSB on it.

Axle nut. You might want to get it taken care of ASAP. Mine let go about a 18 mos ago and ended costing $1400.

Well, I've had it... still have it... and that's at 130K+ miles now. I've retorqued the fart out of the axle nuts, replaced the axle nuts, and even swapped the outer CV joints from left to right so far.

At this point, I'm actually considering my rear brake disc rotors. Mine are aftermarket EBC (slotted/dimpled) from OEM blanks. The two lil' set screws that keep them attached to the wheel hubs...yeah, those screws keep snapping off their heads . Go figure . There is a little [fwd/rvs] play in the rotors as they set on the lug studs. "Clank...Clank"

Since I can reproduce the sound manually by shifting the slight play in these rotors, I'm either living with it...or awaiting that $1400 invoice .

Dunno what else to do... I suppose I could replace my rear rotors (for ones that are not slightly "wallowed" out around the lug studs ...

I had that noise early on (5k) and it only seemed to happen when moving in reverse or starting out real slow. I took it in to my buddy who is a Honda mechanic and he sprayed some sort of lube in around the axle nut area and it fixed it. Not sure if it's the same issue, but worth checking out.

if it's the axle nut you should pack some grease in and then retorque to either 210 or 220 (I forgot which) not the 180 it was torqued to at the factory.

I just fixed mine @ 56k miles. The left rear wheel bearing was going out. The noise wasn't a clicking like CV joint gone bad but more consistent with wheel speed at any low speed on acceleration and deceleration after the car had been moving for a couple of miles. Oh what fun getting the outer race off the spindle. The race had spun on the spindle a few times. Not enough to destroy the spind;e, but enought to know I am going to buy another if this happens again. I now own a hydraulic press. I had to put in the longer wheel studs anyway, so I guess it was a good learning experience.
