Default Collision Repair

As some of you know, my fat pig of a car was hit not too long ago when I was attempting to attend a s2ki.com HH.

I brought my car to Pohanka Collision center in Chantilly (recommended by State Farm) and they did amazing work. I will have before and after pics up soon, but I wanted to put the info out there in case someone needed any body work.

What I really appreciated:

- They didn't just look at what was damaged....they took the car down a lot of layers to make sure nothing that you couldn't see was damaged.
- EXCELLENT communication. I received daily calls (without asking) with an update which made me feel good about the process
- I wish they had replaced more panels instead of just fix, but I had 3 people insepct the car after and they could not guess what was repaired
- Amazing paint job with a hard color to blend
- Full warranty for as long as I own the car on all the work

Not very good:
- No shuttle service
- Enterprise rental people sucked, but not Pohanka's fault

I will personally be going there for all body work now (at least until Peter gets back)

Glad you got it sorted out, Mike.

I have had a couple of positive experiences with Pohanka, too... I used their location in Arlington several years ago with my 95 Celica. I had a very similar experience. Good people and great work.

The thing I remember most was their willingness to show me the shop and the cars they were working on at the moment. The dude didn't even hesitate and showed me, IIRC, about 10 cars in various stages of repair. I really thought this was very impressive...

I think Jeff and I were the only ones who saw Mike that evening. We actually ended that particular HH a little early because some folks wanted to catch a movie.

The damage is fixed, but the insurance is far from worked out sadly. The woman is claiming that my car drifted sideways in reverse around a curb and hit the front of her car.... since there was no witness that stopped....its my word vs. hers no matter how ridiculous her story is I gave up arguing it and just got it done under my insurance policy and they will go after her and her insurance to see if they can recover the money. Either way, I just wanted my baby back. Glad to hear that they have a good reputation though.

WHAT?!?!??! That is total BS, dude... What a crock...

Hopefully your insurance goes to bat for you. The good news is that they have money at stake, too...

Keep us posted on this, Mike... I am VERY curious to see how you make out.

State Farm ftw... I'm assuming you had the 80/20 policy for you car rentals..

anywho, I've always wondered how Pohanka Acura handled their collision section.. since they are like the top sellers in Acura cars..
