Over the years I've had folks comment on my blue dash. And I've finally gotten around to purchasing necessary supplies to offer this to others that might be interested.
What you see pictured above is NOT an LED, etc. solution. This color dash solution does NOT require rewiring your dash, no change of bulbs either. Its effect is dramatic at night, although most would agree, regardless of the color, it is not highly visible during daylight, top-down driving. I've always considered this point a very small trade-off for an otherwise great looking presentation myself. But that's just me . And again, its not that you *can't* see it in the daylight...don't get me wrong...its just that its not nearly as bright as OEM in full daylight. But at night?...or driving with the top up?...OMG, it is an amazingly lovely mod
However, it does require disassembling your dash, replacing the OEM plastic filter with your desired color within the digital dash, and then reassembling everything again. Takes ~ 1 1/2 hours from start to finish.
Interested?

PS. As of 08/23/09, I *have* worked out a LED bulb replacement strategy for the stock incandescent bulbs. Replacing digital dash stock incandescent bulbs with LEDs makes the digital dash visible during the day, top-down ..and obviously visible at night / top-up . The dash kit of course will differ then based on whether you are interested in the filter/diffusers only...or if you want the filter/diffusers AND LEDs to replace stock incandescent bulbs. Scroll down this thread to find pics of BearNVa's *white* digital dash w/ LEDs
How about multiple colors? I've been wanting to do color-coded segments for the tach, temp gauge, etc. I assume that would require smaller filters cut to size and secured somehow, though I don't know exactly how or if that could be done on the s2k cluster. Thoughts?

Sorry, I'm gonna bail on that idea. At least presently. You'd be right to wonder 'how to secure all that'. Not insomuch as it would be difficult to do, but rather how to do it, and not have the 'concoction' look 'taped together'. I might play around with it...if general interest in solid colors makes feasible the idea of investing further into this.
Wish I could give you a more optimistic answer, but not yet. I hope you understand.
