Construction on the Shenandoah Parkway
Just letting you folks know, there's construction underway on the southern-most 9 miles of the Shenandoah Parkway. I found out the hard way this afternoon (8/25).
Many spots have 1/2 of the lane carved away and filled in with gravel. Others have been quickly paved over, but are rapidly sinking, causing massive bumps. No warning signs exist to say that around the corner is nothing but gravel.
Hopefully, they'll have this all finished and cleared up before the leaves turn in the fall.
On a positive note, apparently today was the 85th birthday of the National Park Service, so admittance to the park was free!
