Mis-shift/over rev apparently. I wasn't there, just what I heard. I'll get some carnage pics when I tear it apart. I used my little snap-on borescope to look at the motor under the header, above the motor mount, towards the transmission, and it looks like a bullet came out of cylinder 4 on the passenger side. Oil everywhere, and there seems to be a chunk of something in the bellhousing.

Wow, that's crazy. I'm guessing it was the valve that shot out the side?

Ouch. Redlining 3rd back to 2nd instead of 4th, eh? Sucks that such a quick thing can result in a completely blown engine and thousands upon thousands in repair costs. Turn a negative into a positive... if you're going to spend the money anyway, get something built!
