Does this sound right?
i just got my sideskirts and i went today to get some estimates done on how much it would cost me to get done. I went to the shop that painted my whole right side of my car and front. Anyways to paint my sideskirts and put them on and to repaint my front lip that got messed up from ouirsman honda they gave me a estimate of $867.90 it got broken down to 11.5 hours of labor to put on my sides and front lip(4 eachside, 3.5front). 7.8 hours of painting time (3hours each side, 1.8 front). Labor to put on and paint is $36/hour. Paint and other material cost 162.00 and after taxes and everything it equal 867.90. I felt that was high just for sideskirts and a front lip, i could be mistaken but is it high or does it sound about right??
That is rediculous.... 11.5 hours in labor.... 7.8 in paint.....
Maybe 1or2 in paint and 2 in labor
I got a whole body kit put on an 00 eclipse for 500 a few yaears back and it was full replacement front and rear.
I would go somewhere else and ask them just to spray them and you can put them on yourself.

Forget how many hours of labor and what not......$867.90 isn't that bad depending on the quality of the shop.
If they are truly the best and will do whatever it takes to make it perfect for you, then that isn't too off.
Front Bumper/Lip paint work is typically somewhere around $300.
Sideskirt install should be about $150 to $400 depending on the skirt and how much drilling/riveting is needed. There are also sanding and fabricating issues that may have to be addressed bringing the price up.
Painting the side skirts can be tricky too - depending on the skirt - they may have to blend into your door or fenders putting the paint job into the $200 to $400 range.
You also have Silverstone, which seems to come in many different shades straight from the factory. Chances are, they are going to have to make a special paint blend to match the shade your car is currently in........there are about 4 different shades of Silverstone between 2000 and 2001.
It sounds to me like your shop is well versed in body kit installations and knows that Honda paint sucks and is a PITA to match. If they are one of the better shops in the area, then you can probably feel safe in that quote and the job they will do.
I went the cheap route and have had to have things reshot more than twice now

One word - Spectrum. Awesome job at a great price. Hey, if I go from Owings Mills to Arlington just for paint & bodywork, they must be good. They didn't have a problem with paint match or blending. Do a search on here for Spectrum Painting & Colision Center. Ask for Mark.

If they are doing the process in the order that you stated in your first post, then they are painting the skirts while on the car. In this case, knowing that they will be blending into the other panels, the price quoted doesn't seem that bad.
And Alex made a good point. Not all silvers are the same. Fortunately for me, I have a shop that I trust. Unfortunately, we've had enough practice that they match it up exactly!
I know w1ngman's shop did two or three practice shoots before deciding that they matched his paint. His were painted off the vehicle.
