Has anyone ever videotaped a run either by mounting a camcorder or someone in the passenger seat recording? If so, I'd like to see it!
It's never been done. Ever.

J/K It doesn't even begin to give the true sense of speed and driver input.

do a search on youtube or google video for "tail of the dragon" or "deal's gap" - I know there are some videos out there.
Holy chit!! Found this one on Google Video (keyword: "deal's gap").

Even though the guy on the bike is being completely suicidal, you can see when he passes vehicles there are several that have also crossed the double yellow line. Case in point, the silver Pontiac Grand Am he passes in the beginning.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4...deal%27s+gap%22

It's a long video, but within the first 60 seconds you pretty much have seen all you need to see.

Several of us video taped the majority of the weekend. I however STILL haven't cut or edited any of it.

Oh on top of everything else that has been discussed...just an FYI... these aren't "planned" pictures where the driver went and told someone to snap a pic or two as he drives by...

These are "candid" pics where the driver is just driving as he normally would. The pics are taken by "killboy" who takes pictures of anyone and everyone driving on the dragon.

So to say they are just pics is kind of wrong because although they are "just pics"... but they are "just pics" of how the driver in the car would drive whether the picture was being taken or not.

You'll understand what we mean if/when you go to the dragon
I can see how my first comment was received now. When I first posted, I didn't know that killboy.com was pictures of the Dragon. I assumed the possibility that they were maybe pictures taken by Car and Driver or something like that. You know, when they drive on a closed circuit. Sometimes they're all over the road when they do that but it doesn't matter because it's a closed course.

Oh and Skip's comment about Big Ben....good stuff!!!! I should have seen that one coming! I knew that avatar would make me lots of enemies

This isn't a really good way to be introduced to Mid-A. If you want to incite words, go to DragVa not s2ki and especially not Mid-A.

Peter
I know what you're saying Peter, and you're right.

But the way I saw it, my comments were a response to comments made to me first. Just because I'm new doesn't mean everyone can rip on me and I can't say anything back...I have feelings too! Also, if I wanted to get flamed for asking a noob question, then I would have gone to DragVa. I would have thought the s2ki folks would be a little more friendly and tactful My point is, don't dish it out if you can't take it. Let's just have fun, hold hands, and sing songs and stuff instead. My bad.

The "fun" and "sing songs" part I'm okay with. The rest...
