Default Driving around DC and Maryland

Hey All,

For those local to the area, I was just wondering if its nice and safe to drive around the towns. I'm trying to plan a road trip down to the area and drive around washington DC.

Its going to be a long drive so i'm debating whether its worth driving my S down.

Thanks for your advice and suggestions.

Like anywhere, it's generally safe, but use your eyes ears and brain to see what's going on around you.

I guess there are parts of DC that are pretty rough, but what fun is driving an S2000 around crappy roads in DC?

May I ask whats SE DC?
Sorry I am not from the area. Have no idea what those stand for lol

The reason i ask is cuz there are areas in and around where I live that aren't as safe. Because the S catches attention around the area. I just don't want to attract any trouble when i'm on a road trip thats all.

It'll be fun thou, i think the whole road trip will be fun. I plan to take various pictures of my S in different cities.

Don't go through "SouthEast" D.C. is what they're saying, plus DC roads suck. Haha. Any of the suburbs around the metro would be fun, all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Back roads would be a lot better for the S around here...personally I think...I wouldn't take it through DC just because of the physical landscape.

Then how is supposed to see the sights? Park the car somewhere and take a cab?

Hahhah, no big deal. I'm just trying to get some tourism and nice pictures outside of my home town of my S with me. My car is lowered an inch or so, thats why i was worried.

I'm not really trying to find curvy roads or anything for fun driving. As long as my car is fine, then i'll be ok. I guess its more like a photography/tourism trip.

You guys know any good spots for pictures? It'll be interesting to put together an album of your own car in different cities. Its an idea for you guys lol

You'll probably be fine in NW DC (which is where most of the sights are anyway). Just take it slow when you see bumps.

If you go at night time (when its not too crowded), you could probably get some nice shots in front of the various buildings. But, like others said, you probably don't want to venture too far from downtown.
