Default Duplicate 2004 S2000 key cut?

Hey everyone!

I just bought a S2000 from a private seller and he only had one key + remote. I was wondering if anyone knew of any shops in the area that can help cut and program a key in Northern Virginia area. The Honda dealership by my house wants to charge 300, and the other dealership across town has a broken key cutting machine.

Thanks
Anthony

Criswell Honda made me a copy 2 years ago for about $90. Call around to the different Honda dealerships and one may be cheaper. Good luck!

College Park Honda makes my keys for me. They cut the keys from the VIN#. I program them myself. I want to say that the key for my 05 Civic was $25-$30 & the key for my 05 S2000 was around $45.00. I don't know why they are different prices, they look almost identical to me. When you get a price, make sure it includes programming. Most dealers want to charge an hour labor to do any kind of key programming, plus the cost of the key. What a scam.

I hate Criswell anything.

Gotcha, here's what I got back from calling around: landmark honda- 155.35 + $125. Bill page honda- $171 + 90. Tysons- $130 + $200. College park- $148 + $100. Fairfax Honda- $173 + $60. So cheapest is fairfax honda at $233.

I didn't write down specifically which was the service charge and which was for the key but the key I'm pretty sure was the more expensive charge at each dealership. It seems the s2000 key is special order. I wonder if a non-s2000 key like for an accord or another car would matter. If it means saving $100 I'm a-ok with that.
