Default Encounter With Mean Person's Car Door

For the first time in the life of my Sweet Little Valentine (My 01 S2000) I parked near a Barnes & Noble to run in for a cappuccino (and quick peek at the car mags), when some thoughtless jerk of a person slammed their creepy car door into the side of Valentine. She is now sporting not only a big dent, but her paint is sheared off down to the metal. Needless to say, I have been and very sick. Mean people give me a . Anyway, the damage to my car from ONE STINKING DOOR BANGER is $550.00!!!!!!!! So, guys -- all of you for whom I was planning a round of drinks at Fall Colors, are out of luck. Now I've got to put my sweetie in the shop for THREE DAYS to get her fixed (I just can't stand to see her in this condition) and part with my Fall Colors fun money (and yours) to pay for the damage. All I can say is, if you don't want this to happen to you -- park three miles or more from where you want to go!!! I just had a $552.89 cup of cappuccino. Also, when we get to FC -- can anybody afford to buy me a drink?

Sad news! ...

I heard you loud and clear...big dent...and paint sheared to metal...but if I might ask, why not sign yourself up for the paintless dent removal at Fall Colors . Same guy is supposed to be doing paint match work as well for dings, chips, etc.? Who's to say he can't save you a little coin?

Perhaps you could take a couple pics...upload them to the site...and ask on that Fall Colors Dentless thread for thoughts as to whether or not it could be fixable at the clinic?

$550......ouch! That hurts! For me...parking is never a rush job. (One day I'll eat my words on this)...but I park away from "the world that just doesn't care" . I can't stand parking anywhere where I can't be riiiiiiiiiiiight up against a parking island on one side....and pleeeeeeeeeeenty of room is available on the other side. In fact, I loooooove to find "mis-sized" "odd-size/fit/corner" painted parking spaces where The Bruised Banana can stay away from heartless meanies

Soooo sorry for your pain. One way or the other, tho', get her fixed, stop thinkin' about it,.....and park away from others! .

Boy, Darlene, that really sucks big time. You probably have a high deductible so have to foot the whole thing, huh? I'll buy you a drink for sure!

My deductible is not that high, but I decided to pay for this one myself -- I have a 2000 Mustang that is being driven by my teenager, and we have a corvette, the S2k and 2002 Grand Cherokee. My insurance agent drives a very nice Mercedes-Benz convertible. I decided to pay for it myself and not file a claim, or my agent will upgrade to a Rolls Royce. It will be more expensive in the long run if they pay now. Besides -- now I'm getting free drinks -- who could ask for more?

yeah, some people suck. last week, some idiot tapped my bumper and messed it up. the rusty bolt on their license plate peeled the paint off. where's the respect for other people's property anymore????? i think i know which car did it (at my gym), and i must say i was awfully tempted to retaliate....but i figured that would make me no better than them. the thing that really bugs me is that it is such minor damage, it totally isn't worth getting the bumper painted, but the little spot (since filled in with touch-up paint) still stands out to me

did you have any evidence as to what car may have done it?

I just saw this. I am also one who feels your pain/anger. It has happened to our "PrincesS." In two weeks you will be surrounded by a very understanding support group!
