Ok, so I was doing some research, and it's a mile from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. Where we were shooting was about 3/4 of the way to the Monument. So I would estimate Aaron's shot is from about 3/4 a mile away. Which I think is rediculous.

Hey guys ... any recommendations on a lightweight / comfortable backpack for my SLR?

I don't carry a lot of gear (20D with 17-85mm lens, 70-200mm f/4L, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, and a 580EX), and a little extra space to carry the charger, extra batteries etc ...

I'm going on a trip in 2 months to China for 2 weeks so it'd be nice if I had something I could carry my SLR with.

Couple things I'm looking for:

1. 17-85mm Lens must stay attached to the camera while in the bag.
2. Must be lightweight
3. Must be comfortable (this is probably a personal preference)
4. Not exceptionally expensive (under $200 would be ideal)

It'd also be nice if it was capable of carrying a 15.4" MacBook Pro, and some other accessories, so I could use that as my carry-on for the flight.

I cannot recommend a bag BUT I can recommend a place to shop.

Ace Photo in Ashburn, VA

They have a 3000 square foot room FULL (like as in can't get anymore in there) of bags of all shapes, sizes, and cost. You will find what you are looking for there.

Lowepro Flipside 300. I love it

But you'll need a separate laptop bag. I carried the Flipside 300 and the ThinkTank laptop bag down to Cancun - was nice and easy.
