Default Feeler: Soft Top Install

I'm tossing around the idea of replacing my soft top. I know about Lim's but I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help with the install in the NOVA area (experience, tools, and garage would help). This is purely theoretical at this point. Thanks!

Hey Olgator, I notice you have a hard top. Have you done a soft top install before?

I've done one, however I will advocate if possible to buy a soft-top on the frame as it makes it a lot easier for just a drop in install. Did mine in about 4 hours.

Keep an eye out for a seller if you are thinking about going that route. I stole mine off an brand new 09' with <1000 miles that was being stripped down for a track car.

I'll sell my 2001 soft top with frame and motors. It's been in storage for the last 2 1/2 years, has no rips, and the plastic window is in pretty good shape. I'll let it go for $300.

Did I say $300? I meant $400 (is that more reasonable?).

$300 picked up here in Shepherdstown WV (just over the Potomac).

I was excited until I re-read and saw 2001. Really want to keep my glass window. I need a new top though.

Still a great price, I just like being able to put my top down when it's cold outside.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about buying one with the frame also; I've heard of brand new tops being difficult to close because they're so tight. I appreciate the offer Rob, I'm aiming to get a glass window in the process.

Unfortunately, I rarely have time to drive the car anyway, so this isn't an urgent issue. I just wanted to see what kind of support I could expect and the potential costs. I'll ping you guys when I get the top.
