What ever happened to the last one... did the winner get paid? No one ever said anything to me about it, I think I owe someone some money.

Im in for this year... missed the playoffs by one spot- not gona happen this time!
I dont think ANY of us followed through with the money last year. It was after thought.

I'd like to keep it cash free as in the past. Take the bragging rights...that's all.

If Luft (??) isnt up for setting up the league this year, I will. Same as last year....12 teams, automated draft (set it and forget it)

Steve

Maybe 2 leagues? a free one and a cash league? cash up front of course, like john said, maybe a few football meets? either at bars or if someone should choose to host one?

Yep, you're right on the mark with FFL. Marcus, right?
Yep, Marcus here. I'm out for the FFL. I'm already in another league and generally suck at it. When I get a little better, then I'll start putting some money down.

Doesn't mean you can't play

We've had many people try it before without knowing a thing of football, but finish better than many veteran players.

They don't place first or anything, but lack of knowledge doesn't mean you'll finish last or anything.
In my experience, this is somewhat true - but I manage to have no knowledge AND finish last.

Maybe there will be 2 leagues, I'm the sort that would rather be actively drafting than have it automated...

If you guys want to go w/CBS Sportsline for it, it's $20 off of the league fee til August 17. Steve, I will start a new thread for this sometime today.

Oh, I forgot to mention the reason I think a prize league would be more fun... by structuring the prizes such that there are prizes for things other than the championship, it keeps the lower teams from dropping out of play. With free leagues, people start not paying attention as soon as they start losing.

$130 before Aug 17, $150 after. So the franchise fee varies depending on how many people join.

Remember that a lot of people play free yahoo and then pay $10 for Stat tracker, this isn't much more than that, if at all.
