First War Story...
I am, as a few of you know in the process of purchasing a new S2K. I just called a local dealer and the salesman told me that they have a 2002 Silver/Blk. in the showroom. Great... right! WRONG This car has 900 miles and was owned by a vette owner who crashed his vette and bought a S2K. He didn't like it (what a surprise). They bought it back from him (how nice) and will sell it to me for $34800. I passed, and the salesman started to change his tune and price as soon as he realized that I knew a little (thanks guys) about the car. The asking price fell quickly. I suspect the vette owner thrashed it looking for that big V8 grunt before the proper break-in was completed. The salesmen said " but it has 2K in extra's" I said yeah and a beat-up motor!
Chip,
in response to your PM about my experience about WB honda, i couldn't really say either way. When they were going to sell me the s2k, they asked me a huge markup for the 02, but once i told them that i have bought a few cars from them, the price went to msrp. They wouldn't throw in anything and since i was trading in my car, i really can't complain about the trade in price. I like them. I joked around with them, so the atmosphere is easy going. I would just suggest that you go and play the number game with them, and just remember, the mechanicsville honda did state that they will beat any price. So what you should do is get them to quote you a price and have them write it down, tell them you are going to go to the bank and see about financing, and take it to mechanicsville.
You might want to call both places and ask to find out about the status of any incoming s2k's.
My guy at WB is tanner, he is the internet sales guy....
BTW, he might be checking this site out too.. so if he does...
HI tanner.. great sales experience from you...
Throw a few things my way.. i want that hardtop!!!!
