getting body to look like new
about how much do you guys think it would cost/time it would take to get my body back to excellent condition? i am the 3rd owner of my 2002 suzuka blue. the entire driver's side door doesn't have a clearcoat, there are a few dings on the passenger door, and a gash where the passenger door curves in at the bottom.
also, is it expensive to get aftermarket body parts (front bumper/lip, rear bumper/lip, side skirts, spoiler) painted and installed? can anyone recommend a shop?
TIA for your feedback

First thing I thought when I read this thread was diet and exercise
Interested to see what people say with this. I think pictures would help when you describe the dings and the gash.
Also, I don't know if you've looked at PDR, but some of them have deals where they remove up to three or four dents for a set price.
Good luck

I'm 49. That's where my head is at.

Okay, to answer your real question... I don't think your clear coat could really be gone. Maybe just needs a good cleaning, clay bar and wax. The dents could probably be taken out with dent masters. I've had mutliple dents removed in my '01 and '05.

If the clearcoat truly is gone on the door, it probably points to a repaint sometime in its past. I'd have to see the gash to say one way or the other, but if it's not too deep it can be smoothed out, just like the dents. Places like Dentmasters will set you back about $100/panel (unless it's a ton of dents). Repainting is another story.
I still haven't posted my horror story webpage yet about my car being repainted, but the chosen shop makes all of the difference. It's easier if you're sticking with the same color as the engine bay and interior panels don't need repainting.
Be aware that fiberglass and plastic will often paint differently than metal, so your aftermarket parts will need proper attention to prevent them from looking like they were painted with a different color than the car.
thanks for the advice
and i didn't choose suzuka blue. my dad rolled home with it one day and i was like ok sweet, an S2000. not my first choice of color, but it has grown on me and i love how it looks at night!
