Default Good race spots?

Any guys know some good street race spots around the greater VA/DC/MD area? I don't race personally but I've heard from a couple buddies of mine that there are a couple places where it happens regularly. If not race, possibly just hangouts where modded cars hang out?

Hangin is ok, but racing ought to be at the track, not on the streets. IMHO.

A few places:

1) V Street, NE in the District. Down 50 and right on Bladensburg Rd. Rt. on V Street. Cops are cool, they let you race, they do burnouts, and block traffic for you too (really, it's crazy but true). Usually during Friday/Saturday nights.
2) Metro - The New Carrolton Metro area - 495/50 intersection. Police swamp this place.
3) B&N on Rockville Pike - not so much a race as it is a gathering. Thursday/Friday are big. Get your best wax on.

BUT - the best place to really push the car is up at the Summit Point track with the rest of us at FATT (see other threads). Its way faster, more competitive, and more fulfilling (and safer) than any road race.

momendo: do you know of any good places in our area? Lake Ridge/Woodbridge? Seems like cops are everywhere.

I had fun this morning on the beltway...I was in 4th, 6000RPM, and I punch it to get ahead so I can scoot over to my exit, kept looking at the road...noticed I was going kind of fast...looked down...100MPH...woops

momendo: funny stories and thanks for the info dude. It would be fun to hangout with other modded cars and cruise sometime.

In Baltmore people hang out at the parking lot of Wabash Avenue and Northern Parkway. It's pretty big on Saturdays and there's racing down Northern Parkway towards Liberty Heights. When the cops show they switch lots for about and hour and go back! It's pretty funny. I haven't been there for awhile (May?) but would go if someone else was there.

If anyone knows any other good places in Baltimore, I'd be interested. I like watching the races, but don't like just hanging out at a parking lot. They do that at the local 24 hour car wash and are very boring

I think we all should go check out what the street actions are like nowadays

Lastest new spot, from a friend of mine who drives a MR2/J-Spec turbo engine - They went racing at the Six Flags area ..... not sure about the exact location, I'll ask him later.
