Pic of it mounted in car?...... Just look back up my thread here (last pic in a run of pics in one of my posts). Completely portable! Pic you see above has a wire hanging down only because I had it charging its on-board battery. Its shown on its [included] window-suction-cup mount. I stick it to the windshield up tight/close to the window's rear view mirror. Just a quick glance, and I have everything right were I need to safely have it.

Ohh! And I just dumped a modified .bmp file over to change the power-on splash screen to have it display The Bruised Banana! Sweetness!
You're such a smarty-pants. Figured you'd go all hi-tech.
I'm just glad since I can't find my way out of a paper bag that I now can travel fearlessly ANNNNNYWHERE I want to go and roll up to my intended destination. I also found out the HARD WAY that if the unit says turn, you'd better turn even if Mapquest says otherwise.

I love it, XViper. Don't know how we lived without it. It is a dream!!! My unit looks very similar to W1ngy's. I had the dell axim with a model for a short time and HATED it. Nasty mistake.
Navigation is one of those gadgets that you can't believe you lived without for so long after you've used it.

I'll put my Valentine 1 on that list as well

psssssst (whispering), but of course you only use it when traveling outside Virginia, right? I love my little portable unit too, but haven't figured out how to mount it other than on my windshield since the S2k visor is too small to hold it properly. Its been so long since I used it (since most of my travel is in our fair state) that I can't even remember its name.

Edit: +1 has the Valentine 1 and I have a bel battery operated unit.

Val.

I have a stealth box that displays the alerts in another section of the car while the receiver box sits in a different place.

Of course the receiver is not in the car while traveling in our fair commonwealth and the stealth box is there so other people won't have use of my detector while I'm outside our fair commonwealth.....

Well......hold the phone (as it were )... During my lunch break I placed a call while driving 70-ish on the interstate. Between road noise and my Invidia ...I wasn't happy with the volume. Sitting still last night with just the engine idling, it was IMPRESSIVELY loud (but then again...so is my Invidia at highway speeds ). I have no doubt that this would be a non-issue on a stock S2000 top-up. Top-down might be a bit of a coin-toss.

Anyway...looks like a little more playing around is in the works for me with my TomTom. It might have been that I needed to bump the volume from the source (the phone)...but at highways speeds...in traffic...I wasn't prepared at the moment of the call. But again, I have faith that this is not a big issue. Because I can hear the TomTom navigator voice at highway speeds okay.
