Hard Top: 1, AgS2K: 0
So close, and yet, so far!
Went down to Goldsboro this weekend to buy a used hard top, but found that the rear mounting brackets, into which the hard top locks at the back, weren't there. The guy selling the top didn't know that the dealership had installed anything extra to make the hard top work so he didn't know to have them removed before selling it.
Honda is telling both of us that these parts are not available separately, so I'm without a hard top and he's stuck with a useless piece of molded aluminum and glass.
Dammit! And I was SO looking forward to having that hard top!

Yup, that's me. That little sliced top episode has me paranoid, so I want a hard top.
Dave, the guy simply told his dealer to install the hard top when he bought it, so he had no idea that other parts were involved. I didn't either for that matter, but I really should have done my homework some more.
I asked him if his dealer could find the person who bought his car, but it turns out that they sold it at auction, so it's pretty much gone.
The H and A website has an illustrated installation document that shows all the parts that come with the top and it's even more than I thought at first. H and A has confirmed that none of these parts is available separately.
Looks like I'm out of luck when it comes to getting a top for a really good price. Don't think I'll be getting one now. I guess I'll have to be satisfied with a good alarm system.

HA! Sounds like that hardtop in NC can be got for a TERRIFIC price now!
Surely a backyard mechanic with a welder & a vice could jerry-rig all the fittings, etc. for that OEM hardtop.
Hmmmm.... veeeeeery interesting!
