Default Highest temp reading

MD seems to be in the bulls-eye for this weather; yesterday afternoon, I went to the car, dropped the top, and drove off -- digital readout was 106, dropping briefly to 102 on a shady stretch of road. Eyes watering, OEM shift know burned, even the seatbelt hurt. I guess the cooling system is hardy in these cars but was afraid to turn on the A/C just in case, so I sweltered all the way home.

Anyone see a higher # displayed in the mid-Atlantic?

Did not see anyone else top down, but the Convertible Manhood Committee has not arrived with my award yet.

Mine doesn't have an outdoor temp display.

Highest IAT I ever saw was around 160F stopped in traffic on the interstate one summer day.

Why were you afraid to use the A/C?

Working outside in this heat is killer. The area we were working on got up to 125 yesterday. Concrete pad in direct sun all day. I don't know what it's up to today.

Eh, I date back to an era where over-stressing a cooling system was a real possibility, so "I guess the cooling system is hardy in these cars but was afraid to turn on the A/C just in case". I have turned on the HEATER in hot situations before, preferring to overheat ME rather than the engine -- but decades ago.

And 9000revs, if you can work outdoors in this, I salute you!

Thanks, I always knew sitting by the pool with my blackberry was working.

I wish it was by a pool. I'm doing electrical work for a new building at BP Castrol in middle river.
