Talking Hot Damn! Today's the day! $$$

Man o' MAN! Happy Day today Just thought I'd share that today The Bruised Banana is officially paid off!

Seems like only seven years ago...

...what am I talking about? It WAS seven years ago! Yeah, a rather lengthy loan...but Taska and I did a fre-finance about 5 years back when my own company had frozen merit raises. The refinance didn't cost us anything (other than a longer period to reach pay-off as the loan drop was worth it)...plus at that time it gave us back some necessary $$$ to offset the frozen merit.

Anyway...today its paid off! And better than that, Taska's truck gets paid off today as well! .

Soooo... now we're going to roll that money back into monthly payments against our mortgage principle. Should move our 30 year mortgage to roughly a 17 year pay-off

Woo-hoo!

do you really want to pay off your mortgage early?
don't you lose the tax advantages?

There's no longer a tax advantage to mortgage interest. So yup, I wanna pay that sucker off as early as I can. The idea of paying a mortgage (I won't say how much -- but suffice to say going this route will trim off over $250K in interest payments alone ) payment for another 28 years... vs being done with it in 17 just has to be appreciated. Taska and I have no kids and don't plan to. So its all about planning now to have $$$ to put food in our mouths through retirement...and pills down our throats to keep us healthy...etc.

So for a seven year loan does that make that a $40,000.00 S2000, I feel the pain fortunatley my S is paid for but I still have 5 more years on the 07 Ridgeline
