house of dubs
im not the kind of person that likes to throw people under the bus but here it goes
me and my friend were always into cars, my friend bought a touch screen to put in his caprice so he got it installed in the "house of dubs" along with his amp and 2 sub woofers. with in two days his car got broken into and his stuff stolen
he showed me the invoice and i saw that he did put down his address in it. didnt seem like it could hurt at the time.
i finally got enough money to buy me a touch screen along with a dvd player and a playstation 2 in my civic with the usual amps and subs. i went to the house of dubs and got it installed and the person was in some way very touchy with filling out the invoice form. (like i said, i didnt see anyharm in it at the time) so i did. two days after the installation my system along with all the other stuff got stolen out of my car.
then about a week ago, my sister went to the "house of dubs" to get one of the rims she oredered, the ofcourse got it installed there and just that same week someone broke the glass of their denali and stole their in dash dvd player. and all the other stuff in the car. it seemd kinda fishy to me so i asked my brother in law if he put down the address in the form he filled out and he said yes. and here is the funny part, when my brother in law left he change one of the wheel bolts into a lock and the same day the car got broken into a few bolts from his 7 series were lying down the ground.
ive had systems before and i work hard for those items, but the only time my car got ever broken into(aside from being stolen) is when i went to this place and got my stuff installed.
i am in no way implying that the activity of items being stolen is connected, affiliated or supported by the company called "house of dubs"

sure you are implying it
I know there's another shop in Rockville where it was "standard practice" for the employees to look up info on installs they did and go and steal the stuff out of their customers cars a few days later.
It's not unheard of and probably more common than we know. Totally sucks, but I don't deal with sketch places like that if I can help it.

yeah you got scammed hard brother.....definitely shady!
i wonder if there is legal action you can take as far as reporting it to the police and having some type of surveillance on the vehicle for the next couple of days after the install?
