Default How do I get my radio code?

When I purchased my car, the previous owner did not have the code for the radio. How do I go about obtaining this. I figure at some point I'm going to disconnect the battery one day and I'll be stuck with no code to enter to get the radio to work.

Thanks

Chris,
when we meet up, I'll show you. It takes about 15min. You have to take the radio out.

Steve, thanks I was just thinking about it and realized that I didn't have the code. Also when we meet up, I'll have to show you my "2000 S". I just noticed that my emblem on the side of the car is backwards. Which gives me a good excuse to get the balck chrome emblem set.
Anyways thanks again.

You will need to get the serial number of the radio, and have your VIN ready. Any dealer can then look it up - some will do it for free, some will charge you.

Yeah, I can do that. We only charge if we have to pull the radio out ourselves.

If you've got a 2000 S2000, this is the perfect excuse to just buy a radio from a 2002+ model. I got one from someone off the board for very cheap shipped...

And now I've got a CLOCK! I just dumped the old unit on ebay, so basically it only ended up costing me $50 for a new radio (with a CLOCK).

(Can you tell I'm still flabbergasted that Honda could release a car without a CLOCK in it?!?)

I just remembered that I have my stock radio sitting in a desk drawer at work, but I also have an old Alpine head unit too. Somebody looking for anything along these lines?

Thanks again for the advice. I'm not looking into any stereo upgrades yet. Maybe some rear speakers later this spring.

heffergm: I solved my no clock problem with a two dollar cell phone cradle that clips to the vent on the dash. I just use the clock on the cell phone's external screen. It looks great and works great because the caller id/clock screen is almost right at eye level. Now I know what time it is and know who's calling me without having to fumble around for the phone while driving.
