I ended up picking up a $2k integra that I will be able to leave on the track if something happens but still have the ability to run at any track and still be streetable.

hopefully. I'm in the process of replacing worn items (it's a 11 year old car with 187K on it) but I should be good to go by April/May... I want to wait for 949Racing's new version 2 6ULR's to come out before getting my r888's and carbotechs. I'll at least be on a solid all season in April.

FF2Skip what bar do you have in your car? do you do a lot of track events at VIR or summit?

I realize some of the confusion is b/c there is a lot of incorrect information about some of these bars. I was also unaware the safety21 was made of more quality materials. This is good to know as well. This makes me feel better b/c I was beginning to think I wouldn't get the chance to track my s2k. I'm in Richmond and VIR is really the only close track to me. I'd love to get out and at least do an event or two.

Skip has a custom Hard Dog bar.

With the Safety21 bar, don't confuse better quality materials with being more structurally sound... the bar still is not a very good roll bar as it has bent diagonals that would crush upon impact with the ground.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll just wait until my car isn't a daily and I can get a proper seat/roll bar setup in the car to track it. I would eventually like to go permanent hardtop and gut the inside out and have it be a fun car....not saying it isn't fun right now.
Maybe I'll try my hand at autocross first.

haha, I wouldn't still be driving it if it wasn't fun. This car is bone stock and is 10 times more fun than my wrx ever was. I had so much done to my wrx and maybe that was part of the problem but the s2k is just a totally different car and I love it.
