I got it! I got it!
Took delivery Thursday. 211 miles on it.
And a bird already has crapped on the hood.
Not having owned a ragtop before. Are commerical car washes acceptable if they are brushless?

CONGRATS on the new car!!!!!!!!! hope that you are enjoying it! Yeah it seems that everytime that I wash my car and am drying it off.. thats when the birds seem to come and leave a surprise for me, I hate it.
Congrats - I remember the feeling just 3 weeks ago myself.
If it's not bird crap it's pollen (this time of year) and if it's not that it's something else.
Keep the bucket, hose and sponge handy at all times.
I had to read how to care for my soft top and this web page is great for that kind of information. I am told the Zaino products for the polishes, 3 step process but apparently they are top of the line and won't show swirls.
Good luck - and stay away from those tree branches - they are bad news.

Seriously, there's nothing that will prevent you from doing so if you wish. However, the owners manual specifically states not to do so. I believe it's mostly because of the seals between the top and the windows - they can leak of water is sprayed directly at them.Dave
BTW - Welcome to the clan.
Ah! Good point DaveZ, I think what the manual was saying is that pressure washes are what you need to avoid also. As long as it gently sprays water/soap, it should be OK.

Rich, although they are brushless, use only low power sprays and hand dry the car, I wouldn't recommend it as you will probably still get pretty fine swirl marks in your paint simply from the crappy rags they use.
After two and a half years and seeing some pretty horrendous stuff (including at the site you mentioned) I'm back to doing things by hand.
