Friday - All is well except for the weather (FREEZING COLD ) , I frolic out the door on my way to another wonderful day at work , after spending my 8 hours sitting in front of my computer I begin my trek to germantown to meet up with sean (aka s2k) where my car had been since last sunday (long story short - SNOW). I pull into seans driveway and see those precious ap1 headlights and just couldnt wait to get back behind the wheel . So we head out to dinner and enjoyed some fine mexican cuisine in gaithersburg and then decide to go see a movie (wives and girlfriends in toe). Upon the conclusion of the flick, we make our way back to bal-deee-more. I hit 895 doing 55 mph (I was the only car on the road, so I did not want to take a chance...) I see a MTA cop pull a u-turn and quickly come up on me (I paid no mind as I was actually doing 53 in a 55) he passes me then drops back quickly sizing me up, as soon as I put 2 dollars in the governors pocket, I pull through the booth and the red and blues go on. I knew this had to be either my exhaust or my front tag (guilty as charged for both items). So I have all my stuff ready before he gets to my door, hand it to him and he says "are you aware you have no front tag?" I say yes and its broke blah blah blah, he goes back to his car, writes me up a nice 60 dollar fine and we go about our nights (Not complaining as this is the risk I take running no plate, just ended my night on a down note ) So I cut my losses and went home.
Saturday - I wake up and walk outside to a beautiful day (for january) and decide the s2k needs some TLC so I washed, vaccumed, waxed her up all nice. Then I decided I needed a top down cruise! So I headed out and called a friend to see if he wanted to go grab some lunch, He agrees and I pick him up, pull to the end of the street, this is where it goes downhill FAST. I decide to make a left turn (Im on a 2 lane road - one north, one south) I then notice that the traffic was to much to try and go left, so I flip the right blinker on and wait a good 15 seconds before I can make that turn, the road clears and I make my right, my friend yells and Im like WTF, I look over, a dodge charger decided he HAD to make that right and wanted to make his own lane in which to do so, so my car went from front, to back on his front bumper/headlight and completley destroyed my fender, door, and quarter panel, as well as my right rear wheel and rear bumper had damage as well. I am just shocked as I have put so much work into this car and right now I dont even want to look at it, really bums you out to see your pride and joy that way . So needless to say, Im off to bed and I hope to get this all sorted monday morning.
Sorry for the novel, I just needed to get this off my chest, I guess writing sometimes makes the pain ease
I look at it this way though, as long as I have it by spring, Im happy!
Bummer man... the winter is the worst part of owning an s2000, you focus on all the bad things, but man are they sweet in the summer! Hope everything turns out well with getting it fixed!
Damn. Well, my supercharger gave in yesterday when I got home. Will have to get it rebuilt I wouldn't doubt that this happened. I'm sure the car felt like it was just tracked. Nonetheless, so much for selling it if I needed to for market price. Oh well. My loss is someone elses gain.
