If you care about the Mid-A, please read...
Skip,
I don't know about that assertation that not too many people would read your whole post. I just did. I'm impressed and saddened. But if it's a choice you're completely sure about and don't want to look back on, then we as a community need to support you to do what's right for you. However, I would just hope that your activity level wouldn't diminish. Given all of the positive feedback everyone has been posting about you and sending you via PM, hopefully you'll realize the significance of the impact you've had on our community.

Skip,
that was officially the longest post that i've ever read on any forum i've ever been a member of. but by far the best one i've ever read. loosing you as a CO is defintly not something i've wanted to happen in any situation, however speaking with you on several occassions i can see the reasoning behind it. but i do know in the same instanace you will still be there for your fellow mid-a members just as you have in the past. (but i'm still not staying over there anymore.. that darned cat & my crazy allergies
)
but thank you for everythign that you have given to the Mid-A Community !!!!

Times change. It happens. I don't post as much since I no longer have my S (and miss it so much), but I still try to hang out as much as I can.
I love this community. It gave so much to me when I first got my S. That's why I was generous at giving away/parting out my S to newbies when I had the chance after the wreck.
It did slow down quite a bit after the switchover, but it seems to be picking back up. For the locals that can't do the Fall colors, maybe you should consider doing the previous fall color run again. You know the one with Rick at MD/PA border 2-3 years ago? That was neat!
Thanks again guys,
LT
I am probably one of those people who haven't been posting much, or doing much in ways of "get togethers" but it has nothing to do with the board, mostly, the "coolness" of having the S has been wearing off. I still come onto the board because of people like you Skip. This board has introduced me to different types of people, whom i would never have had the opportunity to meet if it wasn't for our common interest.
I hope you will reconsider and stay as CO, but if you must step down, i guess we can deal with that.
Hopefully, the mid-A region will be able to have more GTGs and the friendship we have formed will be because of more things, besides having the same vehicle.

Skip,
I agree with you on all your points except for you trying to step down. When I first came onto the boards you were one of the few people willing to answer some questions that I had and even extended your house to help me with my suspension. Now I understand your frustration with some posts that are happening in Mid-A as of late but keep in mind there will always be people on an internet forum that only care about themselves and not of the community as a whole. I don't think it has anything to do with your inability to organize meets or drives but in the meer fact there are people more interested in their wallowing in their own selfishness. Those are the ones in time that will learn that if you want to be selfish in a community that thrives on trying to foster a friendly community then you will not feel wanted by your own volution, not by anyone's else's. I don't think there are many people that I would nominate as the CO in Mid-A, besides maybe a handful at that. I would like you to reconsider your request for the good of Mid-A.

Skip,
with Peter. I think that you have done an admiral job. I guess that you just got a taste of what it is like to run for political office. You can not please all of the people all of the time. But I think that you have please most of the people most of the time and that is why IMO you should reconsider.Thank you for your efforts to help make this work. Don't let the few jerks ruin a good thing.
Sincerely,
Matt
No matter what happens, Skip is still one of the most inviting and helpfull members that I have ever met on this board. I didn't even know him for 24 hours and he let me come down to his house and use his wifes BRAND NEW oven to let w1ingman clear my headlights for me.
