Yea, last thing I expected to see him want to change the S for would be another not-so-economical choice.

If I get rid of the S, it will because I can't afford $5/gal gas.

economy?
fuel prices?

I can get an average of 26-28mpg per tank....thats pretty good...

What are you getting? maybe you should go back to stock...Selling your car and losing the value of the car just to save a max of 1,000 a year is crazy talk.

Thats what I was thinking but Im also looking to save at least a little bit of money. I know it would be a big lifestyle change going from the S2000 to a Wrangler, 2 completely different crews and things to do. Dont get me wrong I love the S. Maybe Im just being flighty
Wow, i didn't see this part.

Wrangler gets like 15mpg - are you nuts? Who the hell put this idea in your head to go from an s2000 to a wrangler to save money on gas?

People saying their s2000s aren't fuel efficient are SPOILED or need to change your driving habits. The s2000 gets great gas mileage...My STI kills gas.

Hmm I don't know about the payments but the whole thing is kinda "FISH"y! Keep the S son.

Why is there almost always a fight between a car and a woman? I know plenty of men who tell me that "my wife hates my car" or "my girlfriend hates my car" then they make all kinds of excuses to get rid of it to make her happy and then they just leave his ass or they turn around and want something after the car is gone. It's life, you only get one! If there is any doubt KEEP THE S!
Just my .02

Ahh I know! I have heard so many stories of guys getting rid of their "toys" or favorite things because a woman says they have to go- in my small, tiny, opinion, unless there is a serious financial reason that you need to sell a car, don't everrrr get rid of something you love- you loved it before you had the girl, so why should that change? Or maybe I'm just biased because I'd be the one of few girls kicking my boyfriend's ass if he was trying to sell his car hahaha

To the OP- KEEP THE S. I'm on my second one. I toyed with the idea of selling it again a couple weeks ago, but I just don't think I can. I know I'd end up w/ another one w/in 6 months haha.

I was thinking about trading in my car this morning and searching CL after my wife gave me the talk... Ugh I couldn't do it... I wanted the STI for a while now... But I didn't think it was a gas eater...

I know I will have to give it up sooner or later though... My wife is so not going to have it... She's overseas right now so i'm good for another 1-2 years...
Oh it will drink gas like an SUV especially if you have exhaust and love to hear it rumble from time to time. Top that off with crapy Ethanol gas... and the STI doesn't do too well...Its heavy and turbo charged...

I really just don't understand all the bitching about gas its maybe about what $5-$10 more per tank? so $10 more a week?

Seriously we s2000 owners are spoiled, think of all the guys driving around in Jeeps, Domestic guzzlers, M3s, 911s ...the list goes on.. If you don't drive like a jerk you will get great fuel economy in the s2000.

Could this decision have anything to do with have to make payments on a ring?
This has had nothing to do with Melissa at all nothing related to her or anything. This was me thinking this. I think my problem is that I dont drive the car enough( i dont like driving it to work cause people will mess with it)

Again I think this will be a passing phase for me i just like the idea of new toys every once in a while
