Thanks for posting up the dynos Peter, it does look like I am running lean... but that A/F meter was after the cat which from I understand makes it read much leaner then it actually is, but should I be worried?

Leaner... yes. Much leaner... no.

hmm so I take it that means I should be worried. Alright time to do some tuning I suppose. I have the stock comptech kit kinda sucks that it runs lean stock.

Its wierd though, I have tracked the car once before and I put in fresh copper plugs before going and at the end of the day they were black like I was running real rich and I think once the car starts to heat up with no aftercooler it pulls timing which will make it run richer no?

Adding a tespipe would most likely make it run a little leaner. The base of the plug can be black, but shouldn't be sooty. If the electrode is black, then yes, that's too rich. Ideally, it should be a light grey.

Thanks for the info Skip, yea the electrode was black so I'm thinking my A/F depends alot on the temps. I'm thinking I need to install a wideband so I can just know for sure.

Then you're not running lean. If anything, the colder air temps allow more air in(less movement of molecules allows for higher density in same volume). I know you're running the stock ecu, right? Stock boost? With an '01 ecu and stock boost, you should not be running lean. Your plugs are saying you're not.

Perhaps the A/F reading you got was a glitch in the Matrix!

When I checked the plugs that was on a hot day over the summer after tracking the car and yes I am stock ecu and boost. I don't know all that much about A/F ratios so I'm not sure how much they are affected by things like a cat and outside temps but after reading up on it and talking to people it seems that 16:1 is a very bad thing. I'm going to pull the plugs tonight, what should I look for if I am running lean now, whiteness on the electrodes? Thankfully the car sits in the garage most of the winter so, it can keep sitting until I get this sorted
