Thumbs up ive got a set of flex's on the way

So here it is I just sent payment for a set of tein flex coilovers, i got a great deal on them, cant wait to install but i was wondering if anyone arond had a set of them or another similar coilover, and could shed any light on a few things, firstly on dampening settings how hard or soft are you guys set? (if you have another set of coils what are your spring rates) the teins are 10 and 12
secondly how low are you i plan on slamming my00 and do you have any other aftermarket parts to help make the ride handle better or smoother?
thanks for the help!

I'm guessing you're talking about pitting joints?

I have BC coilovers(10k f/r). As far as adjusting goes, don't mess with the hieght once you get them. Give them a week or so, for them to settle. After that, I would then mess with the stance.

Dampening adjustments are pretty much up to you. I have mine set on the stiffer side. Not that it makes the car handle any better, it just feels like a more solid car and the response to any input is great. Obviously, a 10k spring with a stiff dampening adjustment is not the most comfortable thing on the street.

I'm on Apexi EXV's and they are 12k f/r and ride pretty well. I like the ride to be a little firm. Like Fish said the dampening is up to you but I'd start on the soft side and go stiffer until it really feels like the ride is getting crappy. Usually the best is somewhere in the middle.

I've noticed too from having mine a while that when you go from stiff to soft it makes the soft feel really soft for a while but you'll get used to it and it'll feel much better. I think my apexi's are set closer to soft out back and somewhere closer to the middle up front. I think the car actually handles better with these coilovers when they are on the softer dampening settings.

Close. It's actually the cv housing that pits.

The only permanent fix(if the vibrations occur) is to replace the buckets(housings).

You can install some half shaft spacers. Most people that I've seen do this, have had good results and still running without any vibrations.

First question: No. Not only was there a geometry problem, but it is alledged that there was also a metalurgy(sp?) issue. Supposedly this was rectified with the AP2's in 2004. Drive shafts are different lengths than AP1's. Also, the metal problem didn't immediately surface- it took a few years for owners to put some miles on their babies.

Second question: Don't slam yo' jank, G!
