Default Last 2005 Drive

Well, today the sun was out bright and shiny and the temps up in the mid-50s. That sweet little S was screaming out bright and beautiful, begging for a run. I succumbed and took her out for her last run in 2005. I dropped the top in the garage before we even got to the driveway. She performed gloriously. I only drove about 30 miles, but it was probably the best 30 miles of my life. Oh, she screamed in joy as we took those curves. We did a little v-tecing here and there and much to my surprise (yeah, right), as we tore into those rpms, the speedometer crept higher and higher and she begged for more and more. Finally, the sun was getting low on the horizon and I knew the temperatures would drop, so we ambled on home. As we approached the home stretch, I opened her up one last time about a mile and half from home, and her high pitched whine was music to my ears!!! We crept into the driveway and I pressed the garage door opener and almost felt her sorrow as we drove into her bed. That's okay, Valentine, baby, we'll do this again . . . soon. There is nothing like a winter's ride, topdown with the wind tearing through your hair and the sound of an S-car engine. Wow. See you next year, little S-car.

Same here! Did it yesterday as well (during [extended ] lunch break). WOW! And just crisp enough outside that the engine reeeally appreciates that cool air . Great responsiveness. And nothing sounds better than running the S with the top down. Just plain wonderful .

Only thing I noticed as I darted through Broad Street traffic...I think 2006 is going to see my having to purchase (or have rebuilt?) my Koni Yellows. Car is getting a lil "boaty."

After being covered for about a month in the garage, I took the beast out on Friday night for a nice dose of the VTEC. She loved it, I loved it, my wife loved it. Her last jaunt of 2005. Man that feels good after a month of driving the WRX wagon

Got to smoke a WRX on the ride, too

I think Banana Boat is already trademarked.

Well, I never really noted when I first put them on exactly. The Bruised Banana [boat ] currently has 125,000 miles on it. I suspect I put the Koni shocks on the car somewhere between 50-60K miles perhaps. At that time, they were purchased used from an honest member with only 600 miles on them.

Other suspension bracings I have on the car have always made its handling t-i-t-e in the twisties..so I am familiar with how it use to behave and that its a little floaty now. Also been noticing the front tires rubbing indescriminately if the road is anything other than perfect/smooth. I feel confident that if I don't do something about the shocks, I'll be looking at damaged fender lips if I happen to encounter such a rubbing while in a tight turn .

I just got out for the first drive of 2006

Spent some time tooling around Sugarloaf matin in Montgomery county it was quite enjoyable.

Then got hit with Laser on 270 going home Luckily I was behind a minivan and pacing traffic

Time to go the Skins are on.
