Local FD Installer
Hey guys, I bought a 4.44 fd and it's been sittin around in my trunk for a bit... I called up InlinePro inquiring about instal and they said they don't really do that anymore? Too many people complaining about gear whine, and cheaper, unreliable products being bought.
From what I understand, there shouldn't be a gear whine problem with a 4.44, as this generally starts with a shorter fd, 4.56+ (from what i've read). They won't guarantee the work, because of such complications/complaints they've had from previous customers.
My questions:
-Any insight on gear whine with a 4.44 installed?
-Any other parts recommended to purchase for install? I was told to buy a shim/bearing kit but is it neccesary?
-Finally, does anyone know of any local (Fairfax/Sterling) shops with experience and a willingness to do so?
Thanks,
-KC
