Thumbs up Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel

I'm considering getting the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel for my PS2 now that I have Gran Turismo 4 (thanks to w1ngman). My question is: Do any of you have the lap attachment? Is it worth the extra $20?

Jeremy,

I had the attachment previously with my older Logitech wheel. I really liked it . Sold the attachment with that wheel . So I'm kinda in your boat too that I wanna get one again at some point.

It keeps the wheel where you want it to be (over your knees & not shifting left & right when you're turning the wheel during racing games). Good investment

True, true. I never indicated "I'm all over it "....just that it'd be cool. Yeah, I have not found money dripping from trees in my yard either . Like I mentioned when I met you today at Evolution..."I use a plank across my lap" (so, this lil jimmy that ebayer designed is cool ).

Nice meeting you today Jeremy! .

Yeah. Nice meeting you as well. I had a lot of fun yesterday, even if the only prize I won was that stupid Z hat. heh.

Now how come nobody has answered this post other than Dave?

I haven't used the lap attachment myself, but a coworker of mine had a lot of complaints about it - essentially that it didn't hold the wheel in his lap at all.

What I did was buy like a $12 mini-shelf that was about 3 feet tall and weighed about 20 lbs. Then I weighed it down using some weights from dumbbells... had to put about 60 more lbs onto it but it holds down the wheel pretty good.

Yeah, someone else I was talking to (sorry, can't remember your name) at the Evolution meet said a lot of people are just buying folding tables from WalMart and using that.

Anyone here tried that?

Not sure if you guys saw the other thread I'd made this suggestion in... but would you be interested in getting together to play GT4 6 player with 6 PS2s and 6 TVs? It'd be pretty awesome if everyone brought their DFPs too... haha
