I noticed that quite a few people who have S2K's are also talking about the Mini-Cooper or buying them! VAS2K in particular, sorry for singling you out.

I'm hoping that there is a message board similar to the mid-atlantic s2k board. I'm looking for local people as excited about the mini as myself BUT I'm also looking for reasonably pleasant people (like the folks that frequent this message board for example).

If there's no such thing, maybe we can start a mini relevant thread? I know the Mini is no S2K, but for about $10K less it's still A LOT of fun!

I'm also hoping that I will be welcome at any S2K meetings, even though I decided to go with the Mini over the S2K VAS2K I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you at the Crown Mini party on Friday, I assumed that was your SPA Yellow 2002 in the lot, but I didn't know how to ID you in the crowd. Hopefully we'll meet in the future; in our Minis of course!

FYI: I've been reading this board for almost a year. lurking while waiting to get an S2K, now that I can afford one I realized that the S2K would be a tough fit into my lifestyle (street parking, no back seat, tough stowage situations, city living, only car). I decided that the Mini was still a fun car that fit better for me!

The party was great - quite a few people attended the event and there were 2 or 3 classic Mini Coopers as well

A few hours ago, Amber and I saw my new MINI sitting in the back lot at Crown. Not long now!!!!
