Default Moving to Richmond?

Hello All!

My husband and I are reviewing the possibility of a job transfer to Richmond (from Charlotte) and thought I would get some feedback on what its like.

Any info on everything from weather to economy to fun would be appreciated. Of course, most importantly, the best places to drive !

Thanks!

No way!!!

We'd LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to have you two move up (and the dog!!! ).

...now if we can just talk Raul into moving up here!!!

Weather: Similar to Charlotte...maybe not quite as humid...but quite similar.

Economy: Mucho Retail (especially the West End and Southside of Richmond)...West End is the best

Fun: You kidding??? Hey, *I* live here...remember???

Drivin': We gotz some good 'nuf roads around here (again...especially west of Richmond where roads can get hilly & a lil twisty).

So c'mon up!!!

- Dave

Huskergirl, come on up.............................we'd love to have ya!!

Let's see....

Entertainment: Well, there is always the famed w1ngman who provides plenty of laughs . Plus we have a good group of other S2K owners in the area . A few good drive routes too Richmond doesn't offer a whole lot in this dept but there is the Renegades hockey and the Braves baseball (neither of these teams I've seen in action, personally). We've got D.C. less than 2 hours away, Williamsburg about an hour away, the mountains an hour or two away, and the beach 1-2 hours away . We have Maymont Park which is very nice and the James River

Weather: Hot, damn hot.......probably about like Charlotte's

Areas: Most of us live in the hip West End or far West End like w1ngman and I, although there are some who live on the Southside which is very nice also. There is also the trendy Fan part of Richmond which is downtown........nice old homes, but somewhat crime-infested.......not a good place for an S2000 . There is also the East End of Richmond where I work, near the airport.........there isn't much of anything out here........well, there are a few places

Say goodbye to the Richmond Renegades. Thirteen seasons and done.

The plug was pulled on the franchise yesterday because of mounting financial losses and no reason to think things would improve in the future.
