Default my baby was destroyed today

Not my car... but my airplane.
For those that werent at the autocross on saturday... we had a "dust devil" come through and shot tents in the air, blew trash everywhere... crazy.

well today, a bunch of us were cleaning out the hanger, and the airplane was sitting outside. nice calm hot day.

I didnt even feel the wind... but I look up and the tail of the cub lifted straight in the air, and the entire airplane was three feet above the ground point straight down. then it came crashing down, flipping over.

craziest thing... yes I have insurance. but this is a classic 1946 airplane... sucks.

luckily no one was hurt, nothing else was damaged...

Jeff.... whats crazy is it was the same thing we experienced down in manassess....

ive let the airplane sit out all day... no big deal. it doesnt make any sence. The airplane needs 30-40 knots to get off the ground with someone flying it...

damn thing weighs 1200-1300 lbs or so...

At first I thought turn it into a race car then I saw the pics of the plane

Now Matt is going to kill you.

Is it rebuildable?

rebuildable... maybe, probably not. it was a wood airplane.

if my car was in front of it... = racecar.

Freaky summer weather...

Good luck getting it sorted out, Cale. I am especially bumbed since I never got a ride...

Not that I would be of much help, but let me know if there is anything I can do to assist in the repairs. I have a pretty free schedule this summer (weekdays, anyway...) and I am more then happy to help out however I can.
