My First Auto Cross
I finally did it! I've always wanted to do a car event and yesterday it finally happened.
Thanks to this site, after reading a lot of thread about car events and how much fun every one is having it got me excited too. With out my S2k though I probably would not still done it, so like every one here said when I first sign up I made the right choice.
But before I go any further with my story I would like to thank Apeatwo and his wife for being patient with me and walking me through the process. With out Apeatwo I would not have found the courage and the way to do it. Infact I would not have found my way to the event either because I got lost on the way there. I must have called them about ten times.
The Auto Cross event I went to was the The Tidewater Sport Car Club (TSCC) Cone Clininc Autocross School last Saturday (12 Apr 08) at VA Beach. All the instructors were great people, infact everyone there was great. There were about 4 of us first timer that day and about 26 regulars. I don't know how much fun the other 3 first timers had that day, but I sure had a blast! I definitely learned the limit of the car and of course my limit too (which is not much yet
). We did 3 short courses first, the first one was the Chicago course, then the carousel , and the last one was the skid pad. The best part was the combination of the three with two high speed straight aways before going through each stage. Man I'am still shaking while talking about ( I'm taking deep breath right now
).
Unfortunate I did not get a lot of picture about the event. And I don't know how to attached a picture here so if some body can show me the way, please walk me through. Thank you.

It was great meeting you and we were happy to help. I'm glad I could offer you enough encouragement to make the drive down for the school. Your trip was shorter than I thought it would be.
As I sure you now realize, its the best possible way to get into autocross/motorsports around. You will be able to apply the skills you learned at any autocross event where ever you go. I wish I could have been your instructor, that would have been fun.
Hopefully you'll be able to make it down to a TSCC autocross event. They are some of the best on the east coast, great venue and highly organized club.
April had a great time too. She has been encouraging my brothers to attend an event and showing her videos to people all day. Hopefully she'll be running some of the events this year with me.
I got the chance to drive a 400+whp turbo ap2 s2000, very nice. Actually, all I did was put around in it afraid of breaking something. The clutch was difficult to manage. I did however get to ride in it with the owner at the wheel and I must say it was a real blast.
I had a lot of fun in the other students cars also; Mustang, 325, Integras, well prepped SM Mini, WRX, and a stock Mini

I'll be running at the ACU-4 event this weekend. It'll be the first event in the S2000 as opposed to my Prelude. Race rubber won't be here until after the event though.

Yes, it was the cone clinic. Everything went very well and the students got lots of seat time.
