As most of you know by now I did a great deal of damage to my cherished S2000 at the track recently. Although I fully accept the risks involved in tracking a car, the thought of throwing away my daily driver again doesn't appeal to me.
That being said, I also think I may have progressed past just doing track days and want more of a challenge. So I have made the decision to attend SCCA driving school this fall and go for my competition license. Now you need a race prepped car for school and my friends Dave & Terri Parker have been gracious enough to lend me their ITB Golf GTI for the school, but I won't be able to race that next year.
I therefore present my new car, an '88 CRX Si, soon to be prepped for SCCA ITA and NASA's Honda Challenge H4.
She's got very low mileage for a 14 year-old car (only 118,000mi and I got a very good deal on her.
As many of you know, I've been driving the Banana (actually Bannana) for close to 14 years and feel more than comfortable with the platform. Unfortunately, my lil' yellow baby that has been with me thru thick and thin has a bit of frame damage that limits its racing potential (though I'm sure my friends at Spectrum could straighten her out).
But she'll make a perfect parts car, and between the two of them I hope to have a track beast that can serve me well.
So, S2000 for the street, CRX's for the track. Whatcha all think?

No, the car I was talking about was a roller that already had a cage in it up in Minnesota.
It's funny. I was heading down to RFK via Metro the next morning for Grand Prix practice and decided to pick up a Wash. Post. There it was in the paper. I had to ditch NJTom and his g/f so that I could go take a look at it but it was worth it. I paid over $500 less than similar cars w/ twice the mileage. It's got some rust in the usual places and some in the rocker panels but that all should be easily fixed.
All in all, until Eddie at JCH tell me otherwise (he's looking over the motor this week), I think kinda lucked out.
