Default Need a Model / Hobby Shop in Richmond -- Quick!

Subject says it all Richmonders. I gave my spray can of Testors Spray Black Tint to a North Carolina customer last spring. Now I have a customer shipping me a set of headlamps & clear sidemarkers for a clearing through Rick's. I've checked the larger stores (K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Michaels, etc.) to replace my can of spray tint...but to no avail.

Now the customer will be shipping his headlamps, etc towards me this Wednesday. So I *NEED* to hook up with a can of Testors Spray Tint asap.

Can anyone point me (directions preferable ) towards a local Richmond area hobby shop that you'd definitely figure to sell this???

Thanks in advance.

- Dave

PS. Yes, I'll check the Yellow Pages...Monday .

I have a 3 Oz can from my sidemarker tinting you are welcome to. I can overnight it or use another overnight method I have access to. Let me know.

The Testors site is http://www.testors.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=1019. From what I recall, there delivery was pretty quick.

According to Testors site, the following place is a dealer:

Dealer Name: Toys 'N hobby, Inc.
Address1: 2334 Hilltop Mall Road
City: Richmond
State/Province: California
Postal Code: 94806
Country: United States
Phone Nbr: 510-223-2970
Toll Free Nbr: 1-800-528-9869
Email Address: toysandhobbies@toysandhobbies.com
Website URL: http://www.toysandhobbies.com

That doesn't mean they will have it. Worth a shot.

Jamie

Ps. Is your customer having the clear corners and sidemarkers tinted with the Testors tint?

Dave, try Hungate's at Chesterfield Town Center or.......I heard the same place is opening a new store at the Short Pump mall but don't know if it's open yet. There was a hobby store on Patterson but I think it closed .

Thanks all!

Jamie......You're the customer I gave (mighta sold it to ya...can't remember ) my can of spray tint to . Nah...it'd cost more for you to ship it in a rapid fashion...and definitely for me to order online & ship quickly...than for me to purchase one locally outright. But thanks bunches! As for the "matching tint/smoke" reference of corners & sidemarkers...no . I knew when typing my post last night that might be misconstrued. Its just meant to be the same deal as you experienced....Rick's smoked corners diffusers...and separately a tint effort on otherwise clear sidemarkers. Jeff (Stratocaster) has assured me that another customer had tried to tint a set of clear diffusers -- and that didn't come out looking so well .

Mikey...Funny you mentioned it, but that Patterson hobby shop was where I'd purchased the can I gave Jamie! I bought that can Jamie has when the shop you're referring to was going out of business & selling things at ~ 20% discount. I'll try calling Hungate's this morning. If they have it, I could shoot out there at lunch or after work.

Dan...first off...( LURKER EXTRORDINARE!!! ). Second...thanks for the link. I'll check that out this morning as well.

Thanks all!

No, no, I'm innocent! I swear it wasn't me. I bought mine via the internet from the Testors site that I included in my previous post.

Well, good luck with the search. By the way, the other method of overnight would be my company's inter-office mail. Pick-up would be at 2809 Emerywood Pkwy. Richmond, VA 23294, near 64 and Broad Street.

Good luck!

Jamie

Ooops...my bad! Hmm...gave that can to someone. Oh well, regardless, I ain't got & need. I found out that one of the hobby shops in Dan's list is likely no more than 5 minutes away from me. I'll stop by there during lunch today and all this will probably be a non-issue after that .

Thanks again!

Gees, what an idiot I am. I just noticed the location I listed earlier was in California, Richmond California. Boy that's a lot of help to ya!

Anyway, glad it has worked out.
