Need Some Experienced Opinions
Hi everyone, I am in the market to buy an S and I wanted some personal views/opinions on a few things. I'm sure I will have some more questions as I go on but for now heres what I got.
1. For those of you who have the Black Interior, how is it in the summer? Obviously the seats in all colors will get hot but I'm just curious as to what users experienced so far. Is it unbearable?
2. As a Daily Driver, how would you rate the car as far as Comfort? Have you had any bad experiences with car when driven long distances?
3. When searching for a Used S2K, what are some things I should take into consideration or questions I should have answered? For example, my roommate said make sure that the Recall on the Spark plugs has been taken car of.
Thanks to everyone in advance!

1. all leather gets hot in the sun buy a seat cover (i dont have a stock seat)
2. Long distance trips were just fine for me but I have a hardtop and listen to loud music
3. The newer the model the less lil shyt you have to look for... theres no major recall to look for that should make or break the deal... the spark plug thing u can do in your driveway for 20 bux... any map sensor/tps sensor probs would be noticed on the test drive hopefully as well as any other problems such as clutch issues and possible diff issues will be noticed on the test drive.
4. If you know a KNOWLEDGEABLE s2k owner ask them to go w/ you

Hahahahaha
Sorry, I just had to
Everyone, Sherv is my roommate. He's seriously gotten into the market recently for an S2000
He's been asking me plenty of questions and I've been trying to give him as much info as possible, but I recommended he start a thread here to get others opinions on things and also get word out to the community that he's in the market. I plan on helping him when he test drives

Thanks Sparrow, I have been debating what year I would like to buy. I have already test driven. I liked it but Don swears up and down that once I drive an AP1 that I will want nothing else.
just get an 02 or 03 then. 00 and 01 have a carpet center console (ftl) and a plastic rear window that is VERY cheap looking when the top is up and they often tear/crack when you put them up and down often/when the weather swings back and forth.
If you are buying it as a daily driver, purchase as new and low mileage as you can afford.
Who cares about the 8K to 9K RPM pissing contest, etc when its a daily driver?
Just get the nicest condition / best value model you can find.

1. I had a black/black s2k, and it was fine in the hot summers. When it's 90 degrees and humidity up the ass, even a white interior isn't going to help all that much
2. Im skinny, so comfort is perfect for me. No issues. I drove the car 3.5 hours straight once, and at the end I was only slightly uncomfortable.
3. Nothing special, check for all the usual stuff as with buying any other car. Most importantly, check to see how worn the soft top is, there are spots on the upper part near the top of the window and kinda to the left behind your head where holes will develop. New top is like $1100 parts/labor.

E30 - thanks for your opinion, I honestly am not sure just yet which AP i want just yet, I think i'll need to test drive the AP1 also.
St4rk - Thanks for the heads up on checking out the Top in certain spots.
I'm going to try and test drive an 03 Berlina this weekend with 28k on it. I'm just hoping the 2 hour drive is worth the car.
