I thought I was going to Dragon, but work stuck it to me AGAIN and I can't make it. I have a VeilSide top cover that has been sitting in New York for over a year (the seller doesn't want to ship and I thought I would be able to drive up and get it...fat chance) but one of the NYC metro guys will bring it to the Dragon if someone will bring it back. Can anyone help a bruther out? It will have to be put on the car and you won't be able to put the top up on the drive home ( but the weather is supposed to be good anyway). I'll come by and get it from you and compensate you for you trouble.
Thanks.
Careful (and Skip can say here...) but how's that sucker actually stay *on* the car? It doesn't require any additional mounting/connectors/tabs...whatever ???
All i can say is *IF* the weather is good, I could see putting it on my car and bringing it back. But Steve......whether me or anyone else in an S2000...there's really no way to make a commitment here . If the return weather blows, you'd really be up a creek! Exception being that perhaps a TN / local owner could keep it safe for you if the weather is sour and/or the boot can't be installed/mounted easily enough, etc.
Anyway...if I *can* help ya out...you know I will .
Steve...I've been thinking about this a little bit more, and I should not have put my name in the hat to assist here . Fact is, Taska is joining me this year...and I need to be a "caring hubby" and consider that she might get chilly, etc. I can take a LOT of temperature issues by myself...and especially for a friend. But man, if the day wears on, and we find ourselves travelling later than expected (dry Sunday or no), and the sun goes down while we still have a couple hours to go...I could have a wife that would do a "Uh-uh" to any future request I might make to have her join me on such weekend events as WTD.
Sorry man...but I need to keep her happy. And that would include having the option open to close the ragtop up if she got chilly. I know you understand...
(sure hope some other Mid-A folks will pipe up suggesting they could help)...
I have a Veilside tonneau cover. It connects with two brackets that clip under the weather stripping along the trunk and then there are two L-brackets that mount just behind the window of each door. The L-brackets require you to remove a plastic cover to reveal a factory screw. Take out the screw and the L-bracket "should" fall nicely over the hole. Replace the screw and the tonneau is mounted.
You guys are right, it doesn't fit in the car period. So the driver would have to go home top down the entire way.
