Ok, I'm sure more then a few of you have had second gear issues but mine is getting pretty annoying. I'm either shifting at 3k or just reving higher and skipping 2nd gear all together.

I was wondering if there was a decent shop that has been proven to be able to correct this problem?
I'm looking to start tracking my car and there is no way I could do that with second gear how it currently is.

I have had the car less then a year (purchased used) and the problem has always been there but has gotten steadaly worse.

I have an 02 and also I figured if they are going in there and tearing the transmission apart I may as well have the final drive gear swaped.
Anyone have any shop recomendations?
I live in Owings Mills and work in White Marsh but anything in the Baltimore area is fine as long as they do good proven work on S2Ks.

I am replacing mine with an used AP2 transmission, but yours seems way worse then my old one ever was. It might be more cost effective to just get a new transmission.

Also since the S is a rear wheel drive car the final drive is in the rear diff totally separate from the transmission.

Ok, well that blows final gear swap out the window.
