Default No more front plate!

I have a happy problem... I got my WV tags today and no more front plate!

The problem is the unsightly holes left behind from the OEM bracket...

I have already ordered a set of the color-matched plugs but I am considering this a temporary solution.

What have you folks done to patch this up? I'll take any suggestions other than some cheesy vanity plate.

Plate plugs are the single best answer for this - I'd recommend just dealing with the holes for the next few days until they come in.

to an extent... They definately look decent, just not great... I just like the clean lines of this car so much that I hate to ruff it up with bits of plastic.

I'd rather patch/paint the holes if it isn't going to cost a fortune (and I honestly have no idea what it will take). I guess that is what I am really asking.

Buying a whole new front bumper is probably out of the question, though...

Thanks, though, for confirming my opinion, Chad.

you could really take it to any capable body shop and have then fill the holes. i personally have had the plugs in both my s2k's and for the money involved in shaving them it is just not worth it in my opinion.

WhrDLMI - I apologize, when I originally read your post I saw 'I have already ordered a set of the color-matched plugs but I am considering this a temporary solution", however I read "I have already ordered a set of the color-matched plugs but I am considering a temporary solution".

That is why I was saying just wait it out in the meantime. There is always the option of having the holes filled by a local body shop, however it could be a bit of money. If you have any friends who have body work experience, I'd get with them in regards to doing it - then just have a local shop repaint the bumper.

No worries, Chad... I understood what you meant to say...

I plan on asking around to see what kind of quotes I get for a patch n paint job. But I expect, as you suggest, it is going to be $$$$.

I'll probably just end up not disliking the plugs enough to shell out the cash.

Has anybody heard any more about VA doing away with the front plate? I heard it would be done in 06, but didn't see anything about it in the slew of new laws they've been talking about that all take effect 1 July. I wish we could get rid of that FUGLY front plate!

There was a post quite some time in regards to this - if I'm not mistaken they have been speaking of it for some time now, however the police department will never give up the fight requiring one.

If I were to get a new S2000 front bumper, I'd get one of these:

Jeff,

I'm sure Peter's shop can take care of those unsightly holes. Shoot him a PM or give him a call.
