Question NOR'EASTER UPDATE

To all interested people who are considering signing up for the Nor'Easter:

As of today's date, we have only 38 people registered for this event. This includes +1s. By our calculations, we need 75 people in order to hold this event as advertised. While we do not need to have all 75 as of today, we are concerned that we are only half way to our goal at this late date.

Because we have cancellation deadlines with our hotel and a non refundable deposit deadline with F1 Boston for the kart track, we are setting an event cancellation deadline date of June 2, 2008. If we do not have 65 people signed up at that point, we will have to cancel the event. Should that happen, we will, of course, refund the money paid by those who have already registered. Feel free to ask any questions here.

Damn...

I have to admit, Bill, that I have actually been considering backing out myself. With the increased costs of... well... EVERYTHING... finding the money for a vacation is getting harder and harder. Bobbie and I have been thinking about just doing something local.

That being said... We are still :IN: because this promises to be an event unlike anything we can find locally. I do really want to come and I do really hope you guys are able to pull it off. The event in 06 was a ton of fun and know this is going to be even better.

Good luck! I'll continue to see if I can beat the bushes down here and get some more participation.

Thanks for the support. We appreciate it. I agree that the cost of living has had an impact. Plus, many of the cars are now in the hands of second and third owners who do not have the same means as the original owners. I guess it stands to reason. Someone who bought a used S for $14K may not have the same disposable income as someone who bought it new for $30K. Still, everyone I meet is good people. We may just have to find less expensive ways to get folks together.

Agreed. This is why I want to go. Plus I just love New England... I miss it very, very much.

Good luck with the event. I WILL be there.

Sorry to hear, Bill. Sorry because I had heard how awesome the first one was. Also sorry because I know there is much upfront effort that may have been for not. Hopefully, things will develop to allow you all to be able hold this event without financial aftershocks.
