Default NoVA Clutch Replacement

Hey fellow Mid-Atlantians. I've looked into most of the local Honda shops as well as independant mechanics and generally found only bad things. Anyone in the Northern Virginia/DC/Southern MD area who can do a clutch replacement? Car is a completely stock 02 and I'd just want factory replacement parts.

I am not in your area. But I can tell you will need at least the following:

4 very tall jack stands, or access to a lift.

A good set of tools.

About 12 hours if it is your first time doing this.

Patience.

Good luck, there is a good write up for the clutch swap. Search for clutch swap and you will find it!

One of the primary reasons I've decided to have someone else do the job is that I've read all the DIYs. Doesn't look particularly scary for someone who can swing a wrench, but I don't have anywhere I could get the car that high on 4 jackstands. My driveway isn't flat enough unfortunately. I appreciate the input though. If I didn't have to DD my S2K I'd probably be a lot more willing to try doing it myself.

I work for a shop in Springfield that my grandfather has owned since '77. I can get you a price on Monday if you'd like. PM me if you are interested.

P.S: anybody willing to install a clutch in their driveway with as cold as it deserves some sort of medal.

If anyone charges you more than $400-450 labor, then you are over paying. Good luck on your search. I don't know of any shops up that way, but I'm sure more people will chime in tomorrow.

Anyone care to comment how hard it is to do the s2k clutch compared to a FWD honda? I want to DIY to save myself some cash but am just a little hesitant. I've done a couple preludes (those damn trannies are heavy), and my old integra and civic a few times on my old garage floor as well as plenty on a lift, but never done an s2k.. Anyone care to comment if it's harder/easier? Thanks.

PTUNING in Manassas did my daughter's 2006 S2000 about a month ago and did an excellent job at a fair price.
